The Disaster Awareness Park, built based on an agreement signed by the Bilim Ağacı Foundation, a founding member of the Disaster and Emergency Technologies Platform (AFETTEK), the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, and the Foresters' Association, was opened with a ceremony as part of the 1-7 March Earthquake Week activities. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, the Foresters' Association, the Bilim Ağacı Foundation, the founders of the Disaster and Emergency Technologies Platform (AFETTEK), other guests, and citizens. The Disaster Awareness Park is a first in the capital, as it will host activities aimed at raising awareness of disaster preparedness.
